Andy Cathcart and Jenn Hill Trophies
At tomorrow’s AGM, two new trophies will be presented to the winners of the SCX Junior Series, Megan Wilkinson and Cameron Mason. The trophies commemorate two riders with connections to cyclocross in Scotland who are greatly missed in the community, and were donated by Velo Club Moulin.
Jenn Hill, who died in 2015 after a long battle with lung cancer, raced everything from cyclocross on Mull to the Great Divide Race down the spine of the Rockies with a stack of solo 24 MTB hours thrown in for good measure. Her love of bikes took her into cycling journalism and she latterly worked as Deputy Editor at Singletrack Magazine - her love of wild places often brought her to Scotland adventuring.

Andy Cathcart was best known as an endurance mountain biker, but also dabbled in CX from time to time, most often at Glasgow Mountain Bike Club's Mugdock Cross where he tended to ride through, rather than around the course... Andy was a lecturer in sport science at Glasgow University and sadly killed in a road traffic incident on his bike whilst on a research trip to South Africa in 2009.
