SCX 2018/19 Series Gridding Guidelines

At a recent Commissaire meeting, the following guidelines were agreed to ensure consistency across the entire 2018/19 SCX series.

Women / Vet 50 / Junior Male Gridding

Women will be gridded at the front

  • Senior

  • Vet

  • Junior

Vet 50 gridded next

Junior Male gridded next

Each of the 3 above categories will be started separately, with a suitable gap depending on course conditions and requirements to minimise the risk of bottlenecks immediately after start.

Vet 40 Male & Senior Male Gridding

Gridding as per previous seasons, using Series Standings.

Youth Gridding

  • U16 male at front

  • U14 male next

  • U16 female next

  • U14 female next

Males in the above categories will be started together. Females will be started after a suitable gap depending on course conditions and requirements.

U12/10/8 events

This will continue to be run as a fun event in line with BC and SC regulations

Race will be split into U12/10 & U8

There will be no official gridding, but field will be arranged based on age and size to ensure safety of all riders (parents and organising clubs are encouraged to support and help out with this exercise to ensure safety) There will be no man made obstacles on any U12 courses

Pits

To avoid congestion and ensure safety in pits Pit crew must be over 16 years of age Pit crew will be limited to 2 people per rider / racer Where possible, if a number of riders from the same team are in the same race, combined pit crews (or 2 ) is encouraged
