In a year of many firsts, the SCX Association AGM was held via Zoom and was well attended. There was a good discussion about the future of racing and you can read all about it in the AGM Minutes, including the results of some polls carried out during the meeting.

“There are so many uncertainties involved in putting on the series and individual events that we have no real idea of what the series will look like until much later in the year……..

….but we feel we would be negligent as a committee if we don’t plan to have events this year. ”

Davie Graham, Chair

There is still so much uncertainty due to the pandemic, but the overall consensus was that people wanted to race and were prepared for whatever changes would be needed to make it feasible. Making it safe is clearly essential, but there was a recognition that organisers had a very challenging role and that there would need to be some innovative solutions to make it financially viable for them to put on a race.

There were lots of ideas and the new Committee will be considering all of them as the situation with the pandemic unfolds.
