Stakemaster shout out

Would you like to play a key role in making cyclo-cross successful in Scotland? Are you skilled in organisation or logistics?

If you answered yes to those questions, or indeed none of them but you want to help in some way, then you could be the right person to be Stakemaster ’22.

Over the years the Scottish Cyclocross Association has purchased, and been donated, a large amount of event equipment and resources, in particular a large number of plastic fence posts (often referred to as ‘stakes’ or ‘stabs’).

The SCX Association committee estimate that there must be thousands of stakes in total and are very keen that the Cyclocross community of Scotland can get use of these essential resources when organising events.

To help coordinate this, the committee is looking for a volunteer to help organise management of and access to this equipment. There is no expectation for the Stakemaster to travel and deliver any resources, but more to help with collating information on the amount of kit, its location, and help in coordinating access.

If this sounds like a task that you could be good at, and you want to help in making Cyclo-cross events happen in Scotland, then we would like to invite you to stand for election to the committee as an ordinary member. Nominations need to be received by 20th February and the elections will be held at the AGM on 27th February at 7pm.
