Committee changes

Davie Graham

The Scottish Cyclocross Committee AGM was held virtually on 27 February 2022.

Whilst its main aim, as an open meeting, is to provide an opportunity for everyone with an interest in cyclocross to learn more about the racing calendar for the year ahead, it also enables committee member changes to be discussed and new members voted in.

Davie Graham took the opportunity to announce he was standing down from the Chair position:

“As I’ve said before, this is my final Chair’s report (but definitely this time), so I would like to take the opportunity of thanking everyone who has helped cyclocross over the years in Scotland. It has been a real pleasure but I feel now is the time to hand the baton over to someone else.

It was good to see the National Trophy at Falkirk this year and I am glad that it is staying for another year. It is also great that we have a World Champion who lives in Scotland, but even more important is the crop of younger riders who are making a mark on the big stage, and this is testament to all the hard work everyone has put in over the years.

So once again, many, many thanks to everyone who has pinned a number on and helped in any capacity over the years and let’s keep it going for a good few years yet. See you on the start line! Crosslove.”

From 2022, Howard Perkins will take up the position of Chair of the committee. Thanking Davie, he said:

“I would like to thank Davie for his time and dedication to the Committee over the years. As a stalwart of the Scottish cyclocross scene his contribution has helped grow the Series to where it is today. When it was struggling a few years back, he took over the reins again to get it back on its feet.

Davie had wanted to step down again a couple of years ago, but stayed on to face the challenges of the pandemic. His passion for and commitment to cyclocross is fantastic and we are delighted he will be staying on as a committee member.”
