Electronic timing needed for 2021-22
The Scottish Cyclocross Association is seeking applications from parties interested in providing electronic timing for the Scottish Cyclocross Series and Scottish Cyclocross Championships for the next three seasons (2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24). The Association promotes Cyclocross racing in Scotland by supporting race organisers and part of that role includes appointing one keeper for all Series races, to ensure consistency and an appropriate service level.
The Committee is working to support a full season of racing in 2021-22 and are optimistic that this will happen. The number and dates of races will be confirmed in the coming months. It is hoped that there will be 5 series races in 2021, one of which will also serve as the Scottish Cyclocross Championships. The successful tenderer will be appointed to all series races and it is important that all tenderers are able to provide this service.
Traditionally each Series consists of 5 or 6 events with up to 650-700 riders, running from around 9am to 3pm. In recent years there have been 7 races at each Series event and Championships (U8, U12, Youth, V40M, V50/V60/Jun Men, F and Sen M). In 2020-21 it is possible that races will be run with alternative fields and total numbers may be lower if necessitated by local restrictions at the time.
The Committee invites details from tenderers which show a clear pricing strategy to allow tenders to be evaluated and fully costed.
The successful bidder will also be expected to provide details on how they will deal with:
· Reliable, accurate electronic timing with staggered starts in some races.
· Online Results
· Provision of League Standings after each round
· Finish Line Camera
· Provision of Rider Packs (number, pins, timing chip or similar) and sign on sheets for Registration
· Live placing updates for commentators during racing.
· Updates and revisions to results and league standings post event, in case of queries, omissions etc.
Tender details should be submitted to the committee by emailing hello@scottishcx.org.uk by close of business on Monday 14th June 2021. Any queries regarding the process or requirements should be sent to the same address.
The Committee is not obliged to appoint any tenderer but does hope to agree terms with a successful tenderer and have a timekeeper formally appointed well before the commencement of the season.
